Richard's Garden

Removed remaining broccoli and prepared the ground for beans. Preparation meant digging a trench 30cm deep, filling it with grass cuttings and scrunched up newspaper and then saturating them with water. Finally the grass and newspaper is covered over with soil. Planted broccoli between the rows of onions. This has worked in previous years. The idea is that the onions have been started early and will mature in a couple of month's time. The broccoli will take almost a year to mature and hence this overlap will mean that the ground will be productive this year in spite of the broccoli.
